Hautlence Avant-Garde HL RS 02 Review

Hautlence Avant-Garde HL RS 02

Hautelence HLRS02 watch

Hautlence reinvents the proclamation of time. Since its inception, the Swiss brand from Neuchâtel has been crafting watches which sidestep the customary hour and minute hands and display the prevailing time using highly innovative means. The Avant-Garde HL RS 02 proves no exception.

The display consists of jumping hours, retrograde minutes, employing an unusual rod-type system, and small seconds. Everything moves with absolute precision with the hour changing exactly as the retrograde minute jumps to zero.

The case successfully blends bead-blasted grade 2 titanium with fine -brushed 316L stainless steel. The sloping edges of the bezel are polished to a mirror-like gleam and the crown is adorned with the Hautlence logo. A sapphire crystal adorns the grade 2 titanium case-back. All the materials of the watch coalesce wonderfully and grant this unusual timepiece with a distinctive character all of its own. Measuring 42 x 46mm, the case features an arcing case-back which is anatomically suited to the wearer’s wrist.

A hand-wound, in-house calibre powers the Avant-Garde HL RS 02. Despite its modernity, the movement features traditional finishes such as perlage, Côtes de Genève motif and hand-chamfered bridges.

This timepiece is available in our online shop and is supplied with a rubber strap, matching alligator strap, original box and papers.

Overall, the Avant-Garde HL RS 02 redefines the appearance of a timepiece with highly original indications. However, the Swiss brand continues to respect the high-level craftsmanship for which Swiss watches have become known for.
